Job Description As a Security Officer – Armed Patrol Government Sector in Arlington, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a government-focused setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and creating a secure environment for all occupants.
You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This armed role requires a dedicated professional who embodies our values of agility, reliability, and integrity, working collaboratively to put people first and deliver innovative security-related solutions.

- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, following site‑specific policies and/or responding to emergencies when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner while maintaining a professional presence.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and monitor for suspicious behavior.
- Maintain awareness of the environment and promptly report any security‑related concerns, hazards, or unusual occurrences.
- Support access control procedures, including verifying identification and monitoring entry and exit points as required by site protocols.
- Complete thorough and accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and security‑related observations according to Allied Universal and location‑specific guidelines.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as directed during critical situations or emergencies.
- Participate in ongoing training and maintain required certifications for armed security‑related duties.
- Availability across various days and shifts

- Interest in transitioning into full‑time roles when available
- Have at least one year of experience in armed security‑related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
- Provide proof of high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Have experience with access control and badge systems.
- Have experience in X‑ray screening.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
