Commercial HVAC​/R Technician

Position Summary Total Comfort Group is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our expanding Mid-Atlantic team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC equipment at customer locations throughout the MD/DC/VA area.

Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems and equipment.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and system evaluations.

Service rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, package units, heat pumps, air handlers, exhaust systems, make-up air units, and related equipment.

Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigerant, airflow, controls, and building automation issues.

Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.

Perform equipment startups, testing, commissioning, and operational verification.

Communicate repair recommendations, deficiencies, and maintenance needs to customers and management.

Complete service reports, work orders, and documentation accurately and on time.

Maintain compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.

Participate in an on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications3+ years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred.

EPA Universal Certification required.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Experience working on RTUs, split systems, package units, heat pumps, air handlers, and ventilation equipment.

Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple service calls.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), and HVAC controls preferred.

Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC HVAC-related licenses/certifications are a plus.
