Senior Software Developer - Clearance Required

Position: Senior Software Developer - CLEARANCE REQUIRED

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a cleared (ideally a TSA or ICE PT level 4, or any DHS clearance)
Senior Software Developer to support a federal entity out of their Arlington, VA office on a full-time hybrid basis, going onsite only 1-2 times per week for team/customer meetings. You will help develop an integrated cybersecurity dashboard solution for DHS, working with COTS, open-source tools, and custom components in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Developer Include:

• Design, develop, and deliver custom components for an integrated cybersecurity dashboard solution.
• Write well-structured, enterprise-level Python code using best practices.
• Build and maintain highly performant, reliable, and scalable systems integrations, including ETL functionality and API integrations.
• Develop microservice-based applications leveraging containerization technologies.
• Create and optimize data pipelines for batch and streaming data (e.g., logs, sensor data).
• Implement unit tests to ensure code reliability.
• Collaborate within an Agile development team and participate in sprint planning and reviews.
• Present technical information internally and to customers.

Qualifications of the Senior Software Developer Include:

• 10+ years developing backend enterprise-level Python applications.
• 10+ years building scalable systems integrations with ETL and APIs.
• 5+ years working with relational, No
  
  SQL, and distributed data stores.
• 5+ years developing microservice-based applications using containerization.
• Advanced Git experience with branching strategies and pull requests.
• Expertise in data pipeline design (batch and streaming).
• Experience with message queuing systems (Rabbit
  
  MQ or Kafka).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Clearance required: Ideally a TSA or ICE PT level 4, or any DHS clearance.

Preferred (not required):

• 5+ years integrating solutions into CI/CD pipelines.
• 3+ years working in Agile environments using Jira and Confluence.
• 3+ years developing in cloud environments with cloud-native services.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and tools.
• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals.
• Contributions to open‑source projects.
