Aquila's Fitness Specialist (Temporary Full Time) assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center. This position is temporary full‑time to last approximately 3 months, beginning in approximately April 2026.
The pay rate for this position is $22.36/hour, 40 hours a week. The work week is Monday‑Friday and candidates should be able to work schedules from 6a.‑2p.m., 9a.m.‑5 p.m. and 11a.m.‑7p.m. on alternating days.

- Supervise exercise areas
- Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
- Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
- Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
- Aid members – spotting and equipment usage
- Explain all equipment
- Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
- Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
- Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
- Attend staff meetings
- Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
- Perform daily administrative duties
- B.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related health/fitness field
- Active NCCA accredited national fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA or other NCCA accredited certification)
- Active CPR certification
- 0‑1 year experience in supervising adults during exercises
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of fitness training principles
- Customer service oriented

All candidates must be able to successfully complete a federal security clearance check.
