This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will inspect development and flight vehicle cast hardware for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of providing accurate data on tight tolerance, high value components to determine configuration per engineering designs.
As a collaborative team member, you will identify improvement opportunities and work with stakeholders on continuous improvement initiatives. You will partner with quality and engineering colleagues to develop effective inspection plans and work instructions.
The ideal candidate demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, strong technical skills, and excellent documentation abilities. Experience with aerospace manufacturing quality control processes and familiarity with industry standards is highly desirable. - Shifts available:
- B Shift - Monday - Thursday (3:15 PM - 1:45 AM)
- Handle preparations for parts requiring non-contact inspection scanning methods.
- Program, setup and operate Blue Light inspection system.
- Perform dimensional assessments of castings using Blue Light application.
- Perform first article, in-process & final inspections.
- Provide feedback to technicians, inspectors and engineers with dimensional data.
- Document, track and complete nonconformance reports.
- Provide inspection time estimates.
- Maintain and supervise inspection equipment calibrations.
- Process improvement.
- Maintain configuration control on files and job records.
Safely work within an industrial environment.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace/automotive/aviation components.
- Experience with Blue Light inspection system/ATOS or GOM or similar.
- Outstanding blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-2009 or 2018 standard.
- Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components.
- Experience with non-conformances, corrective actions, and other quality management system activities.
- Familiar with the use of personal computers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Aerospace quality inspection experience.
- CAD familiarity
- Inventory system knowledge
- Metrology familiarity
- CAD system knowledge.
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
Compensation Range for WA applicants is $24.62-$34.47
