- Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions/concerns quickly, and assist guests in meeting their gaming needs.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that drive sales and repeat business.
- Promptly and accurately process guest purchases and returns using the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) computer system.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly and professionally.
- Promote Game Stop's unique guest benefits such as the title reservations program, trade‑in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Assist the Store Manager with training associates and setting guest service expectations.
- Observe and evaluate associate performance; provide timely feedback and address unsatisfactory performance.
- Ensure associates complete all onboarding, training, and compliance requirements before opening or closing shifts.
- Schedule associates in partnership with the Store Manager, maintaining staffing levels to achieve optimal guest service.
- Approve payroll, enter paid time off, and verify that associates are paid for all time worked.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all store areas, ensuring fixtures and equipment operate properly.
- Ensure Omni‑Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily.
- Protect company assets through effective inventory control and loss‑prevention practices.
- Support team in exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties.
- Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and maintain product placement on the sales floor.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily business transaction totals accurately.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies, record discrepancies, and communicate with management.
- Process defectives, recalls, and stock pulls accurately.
- Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety, addressing hazardous situations promptly.
- Assist in maintaining store records/files and ensuring manuals are up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to Game Stop policies, procedures, and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
- Follow all opening and closing procedures.
- Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Minimum age 18.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
- At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.

- Provide genuine, individualized assistance at every guest visit.
- Clear verbal and written communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to achieve objectives in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Meet associate performance expectations including attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace.
- Operate POS computer system.
- Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills.
- Complete required paperwork properly.
- Execute financial tasks in accordance with company policy.
- Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays; minimum availability 3 days per week.
