Accounts Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Manager to join a well-established and highly respected accountancy practice based in Peterborough.

The Role:

As an Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, acting as their trusted advisor and providing a combination of accounting, tax and business advisory services. You will work closely with business owners and individuals, developing strong client relationships while overseeing the delivery of high-quality compliance and advisory work.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, building strong and lasting relationships. Act as a trusted advisor, understanding client objectives and providing tailored business and financial advice. Organise and attend client meetings, identifying opportunities to add value and support client growth. Oversee the preparation and review of annual accounts, tax returns and advisory projects. Ensure all work is completed accurately, compliantly and within agreed deadlines.

Manage workflow and staff allocations across the team. Review work completed by junior team members and provide ongoing support and mentoring. Assist in delivering a high standard of client service and contribute to the continued success of the practice.

Skills & Experience:

ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification. Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment in a similar managerial role. Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, personal taxation and financial management. Audit experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Experience reviewing accounts and tax work. Strong client relationship management and communication skills. Proficient in accountancy and tax software packages. Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
