Assistant Accountant

Position: Assistant Accountant (4 or 5 day week)
The Assistant Accountant is responsible for day-to-day finance duties while also supporting the Senior Accountant with monthly management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and year-end activities. Working closely with colleagues across the sales, purchasing and warehouse teams in a busy distribution environment this role offers flexibility of either 32 hours (4-day week) or 38 hours (5-day week). Fridays are mandatory for operational cover.

Key Responsibilities Daily sales invoicing Credit application administration Purchase invoice processing Supplier reconciliations Resolving invoice and purchase order discrepancies Credit card reconciliations Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including posting journals, maintaining fixed asset registers, and reconciling balance sheet accounts Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets Assisting with variance analysis against budgets and forecasts Person Specification 35 years experience in a finance office Strong purchase and sales ledger knowledge Experience assisting with month-end reporting Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting software AAT qualification with at least 3 years post qualified experience (desirable) To learn more about this role contact Judith or Apply Now.
