Design Engineer

Your new company A well-established and forward-thinking machinery manufacturing business based in Armagh is seeking a talented Design Engineer to join their growing team. Operating across multiple sectors, this organisation is known for delivering innovative, high-quality engineering solutions to a global customer base. Your new role As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and improvement of bespoke machinery and equipment.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will take ownership of design projects from concept through to manufacture. Key responsibilities will include:
Designing and developing mechanical machinery and components using CAD software (e.g., Solid Works or similar) Producing detailed engineering drawings in line with manufacturing standards Collaborating with production, quality and project teams to ensure design feasibility and efficiency Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and design optimisation Liaising with suppliers and customers where required to ensure project delivery Assisting with prototype development and testing What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have: A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Proven experience in a design engineering role within manufacturing or machinery environments Strong CAD skills (Solid Works preferred or similar 3D package) Knowledge of mechanical systems, materials and manufacturing processes Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Desirable:
