Manufacturing Engineer

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll play a vital role in supporting both Engineering and Production teams, helping to ensure equipment reliability, electrical compliance and operational performance across a busy manufacturing environment.

This is a hands‑on role combining planned maintenance, fault finding, continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. Working as part of a rotating shift pattern, you'll support day‑to‑day operations while helping to drive improvements in safety, reliability and efficiency across the site.

You'll work closely with colleagues and contractors to maintain critical equipment, resolve issues quickly and ensure engineering standards are consistently achieved.

Week 1 - 0500 - 1330

Week 2 - 0600 – 1430

Week 3 - 1430 - 2300

Week 4 - 1430 - 2300

You will:

• Support the delivery of planned and reactive electrical maintenance activities across site.
• Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, engineering standards and Health & Safety requirements.
• Carry out fault finding and repairs on electrical, PLC and control systems.
• Undertake preventative maintenance, inspection, testing and commissioning activities.
• Support maintenance planning and scheduling to maximise equipment availability.
• Manage contractor activities, including inductions, permits and compliance processes.
• Maintain engineering documentation, audit records and statutory compliance information.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability and performance.
• Identify and implement opportunities to upgrade obsolete equipment and technology.
• Contribute to KPI reporting and performance improvement activities.
• Assist with mechanical maintenance activities where required.
• Promote a strong safety culture and support site compliance through audits and inspections.

We're looking for a skilled electrical engineering professional who enjoys problem‑solving and takes pride in maintaining high engineering standards within a manufacturing environment.

You will have:

• A Level 7 Electrical qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong fault‑finding experience across electrical control systems, PLCs and production equipment.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and engineering compliance requirements.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety standards and safe systems of work.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across functions.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving.
• The flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern and support additional business requirements when needed.
• A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high standards.
