Accounts Assistant

We are hiring for our client, a successful FMCG organisation based in the Newry area, to appoint an Accounts Assistant on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This Accounts Assistant role offers an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team and provide key support across day-to-day accounting activities. The successful Accounts Assistant will assist with financial administration, reporting, reconciliations and maintaining accurate records within a fast-paced business environment.

The Role
* Provide support across daily finance and accounting activities
* Process invoices, payments and financial transactions accurately
* Assist with bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
* Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
* Support month-end processes and reporting requirements
* Assist with accounts payable and general ledger activities
* Investigate and resolve finance queries where required
* Update and maintain finance systems and spreadsheets
* Support the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks and projects

The Person
* Previous experience within an accounts assistant, finance administrator or similar role
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Good numerical skills with confidence working with financial data
* Organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
* Strong Excel skills and confidence using finance systems
* Available immediately or at short notice
* Experience with in FMCG or a fast-paced environment would be advantageous The Reward
