The Home:
Orchard Lodge is a purpose-built residential care and nursing home in Armagh, with views of the local cathedrals and city from many bedrooms, lounges and dining rooms. We offer professional, person-centred residential and nursing care, including specialist care for those living with dementia, and we are registered to provide care for young people with physical disabilities. Our bedrooms are private, light and spacious, fully furnished with en-suite facilities.
Residents may bring home accessories and furniture to personalise their space. Facilities are designed to enable independence with 24-hour care. Our care and nursing teams provide compassionate support, companionship and comfort with dignity and respect, so residents feel safe and secure in our community.
The Role
As a Care Assistant with Kathryn Homes, you'll join a dedicated team united by a profound desire to positively impact the lives of residents. We seek Care Assistants who are devoted to supporting residents in embracing life to the fullest, promoting independence within a kind and compassionate setting. At Kathryn Homes, residents and Care Assistants engage in daily moments of joy, laughter and meaningful activities.

We do not require Care Assistants to have experience, though it is beneficial. We are seeking individuals whose empathy and warm-hearted approach stand out. Successful Care Assistants will have a positive, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills. Each day will bring something new, making for a diverse yet rewarding role.

RequirementsRequired Criteria
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A good standard of oral and written English.
- A non-judgemental approach to others.
- Excellent communication skills with the compassion required to deliver high-quality care to our residents.
- Respectful to residents and the values and beliefs of other team members.
Desired Criteria
- Educated to QCF/ NVQ Level 2 is desirable, but not essential.
- Previous experience in Health and Social Care preferred, although not essential as full training will be provided.
