Role Overview

The Health Care Assistant at Artek will provide compassionate and professional care to individuals, supporting their health, independence, and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily living needs, promoting dignity and respect, and ensuring that the highest standards of care are delivered in line with Artek UK’s values.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist service users with personal care, mobility, and day-to-day activities.
• Support with meals, hydration, and medication (under appropriate supervision).
• Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals.
• Promote independence and encourage engagement in meaningful activities.
• Monitor and report changes in health or behaviour to senior staff or healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
• Follow safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, colleagues, and external healthcare professionals.
• Respond effectively and calmly in emergency situations.
• Respect confidentiality and always maintain professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCSEs / High School Diploma or equivalent (essential).
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience in a Health Care Assistant, Support Worker, or similar role (advantageous).
• First Aid and Basic Life Support training (preferred).
• Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
