The HouseOrchard Lodge is a purpose built residential care and nursing home in the convenient location of Armagh. Most of the bedrooms, the major lounges and all the dining rooms in our home have views of the two local cathedrals and the surrounding city.
At Orchard Lodge we offer specialist care for those living with dementia, with professional, person orientated residential and nursing care. We are also registered to care for young persons with physical limitations.
All our bedrooms are private, light and large, and are fully equipped with en‑suite facilities. Residents are more than free to bring their own home furnishings and furniture to make their area seem like home. Our facilities are designed to maximise the independence of our residents, with the aid of 24 hour care.
Our caring, compassionate and highly qualified care and nursing teams offer gentle, empathetic assistance, companionship and comfort, always with the greatest decency and respect, so all residents enjoy a safe and secure life in our beautiful community.
The RoleYou will take delight in providing high quality, person focused care to our residents, promoting a welcome environment where residents are treated with respect and dignity and staff feel valued and supported. As a frontline team member, you will be essential in the Home’s day-to-day operations, aiding with activities of daily living and ensuring residents’ wellbeing and comfort. As a Care Assistant you will also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, developing lasting relationships and building a sense of compassion;
a championing of the rights and choices of our residents.

Main Duties- Assist residents with activities of daily life such as clothing, bathing, eating, and mobility.
- Provide emotional assistance and companionship to support residents in maintaining a good quality of life.
- Encourage people to be as independent as possible and involve them in activities.
- Help in moving and handling residents effectively and safely, using the right skills and equipment.
- Observe residents for changes in health or conduct and report any changes to the nursing and health care team.
- Provide care according to the care plan developed for each resident’s particular needs to ensure comfort and safety.
- Provide a clean, safe and homely atmosphere for the residents.

What you will require Compulsory requirements- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Good written and spoken English standard.
- A non‑judgemental attitude to others.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to offer high quality care to our residents with compassion.
- Respectful of residents and of views and beliefs of other team members.
- QCF/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent helpful but not needed.
- Previous experience of Health and Social Care preferable, but not needed as complete training will be provided.
