The successful Shift Manager will lead, motivate, and develop a team of operatives to deliver production targets safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while promoting a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

The Role
  • Lead and manage production teams to achieve daily output, efficiency, and quality targets

  • Monitor production processes to ensure full compliance with food safety and quality standards

  • Identify and resolve production issues quickly to minimise downtime and maintain efficiency

  • Train, mentor, and develop team members in safety, hygiene, and production best practices

  • Take ownership for product quality, safety, and right-first-time production

  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

  • Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Despatch teams to ensure smooth site operations

The Person
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or Shift Manager role within food manufacturing

  • Strong leadership and people-management capability

  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to food safety and quality

  • Confident decision-maker in a fast-paced production environment

  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Desirable:

  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tools

  • Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely)

  • Strong mechanical awareness and ability to troubleshoot minor issues
