Overview
THE EMPLOYER IS: TOTAL BATCHING SOLUTIONS LIMITED. We are a well-established mild steel engineering business based in Northern Ireland, specialising in the fabrication and manufacture of steel components for a range of industrial and commercial clients. We are currently offering a Job Start placement opportunity for a Trainee Welder. This role is ideal for a person looking to start a career in welding and fabrication.
Full on-the-job training and supervision will be provided, giving the successful candidate hands-on experience in a busy engineering workshop while developing practical skills and industry knowledge. No previous welding experience is required as full training will be provided.
- Assisting experienced welders and fabricators in the workshop.
- Learning basic welding techniques (MIG welding primarily).
- Preparing mild steel materials for welding (cutting, grinding, cleaning).
- Reading and following basic engineering drawings and instructions.
- Operating hand tools and basic workshop machinery safely.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
- Following all health and safety procedures at all times.
- A strong interest in welding, fabrication, or engineering.
- Willingness to learn new practical skills and follow instructions.
- Good attention to detail and a hands-on approach to work.
- Basic understanding of health and safety in a workshop environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
- Good timekeeping.
