THE EMPLOYER IS: HAMILTON ROAD FREIGHT LTDThe Trainee Transport manager will support the transport planning team with the day to day organisation of vehicle movements and deliveries. This is an entry-level role designed to provide training and hands-on experience in transport planning, logistics and administration.
Responsibilities- Assist with planning daily transport routes and delivery schedules.
- Support the co-ordination of drivers, vehicles and loads.
- Update transport schedules and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate with drivers regarding routes, times and instructions.
- Help monitor delivery progress and report any delays or issues.
- Input data into transport and planning systems.
- Assist with basic compliance checks such as driver hours and vehicle records.
- Provide general administrative support to the transport team.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Basic IT skills (eg: email and spreadsheets).
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Interest in logistics, transport or planning.
