Position: Band 3 Bus Driver with Caring Duties

Vanrath are recruiting for X4 posts Band 3 Bus Driver with Caring Duties on behalf of a large public sector company in Armagh / Craigavon / Newry on an ongoing block booking basis.

They operate a modern transport department supporting community care, hospital transfers, and outings for service users. As a prominent organisation within the health and social care sector, they employ a dedicated team spanning various disciplines, all working together to improve lives. The role reports to the Transport Manager, with a team focused on safety, compassion, and efficiency.

What

you’ll do
  • Safely operate Trust vehicles, ensuring passenger safety at all times
  • Assist service users with boarding, alighting, and mobility, including those in wheelchairs
  • Deliver and collect service users to various locations, including care facilities and outings
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and minor repairs, reporting faults promptly
  • Support in emergency situations, including evacuations and administering first aid if needed
  • Complete accurate journey and vehicle logs, and assist with incident reporting
  • Participate in training sessions and the Trust’s on‑call rota as required
About you
  • Valid Category D (Bus) driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
  • Experience in transporting vulnerable persons is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to assist service users including those with mobility aids
  • Knowledge of road safety and basic vehicle maintenance
  • First Aid certification is advantageous
