About
The Role . The Stores Person is responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the stores function, including receiving, checking, storing, issuing and recording stock accurately. The role ensures that goods are available when required, stock records are kept up to date, materials are stored safely in designated areas and internal departments are supported with timely picking, kitting and movement of parts across the site.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Include Implement inventory control measures to ensure the company optimises stock holding and ensures stock system and paperwork accuracy. Responsible for the loading/unloading of deliveries on-site. Receive incoming goods, check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes, and report any shortages, damages or discrepancies promptly. Check stock accurately and understand products to enable effective quality checks.
Pick, issue and record parts and materials for internal departments in line with job requirements and production schedules. Move goods around site using forklift and trolley. Support the development and implementation of digitised stores processes, including ERP system improvements. Use stock management system to ensure required stock levels are accurately maintained and ensure all stock is in designated areas. Carry out required daily, weekly and monthly checks.
Maintain stores areas in a clean, safe and organised condition, ensuring walkways, storage locations and work areas remain accessible and compliant with health and safety requirements. Ensure the relevance and accuracy of all documentation relating to goods in and goods out including labelling of all stock items and purchase orders. Assist with stock counts, cycle counts and investigations into stock discrepancies to support accurate inventory records.
Participate in mandatory training and learning and development programmes. To carry out any other duties that are consistent with the nature, level and responsibilities of the role, as may reasonably be required to support the needs of the organisation.
What Were Looking For . The successful candidate will be an organised, proactive and detail-focused stores professional with strong communication, stock control and problem-solving skills. They will be able to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced stores environment, use stock management systems and Microsoft Office confidently, and work safely and collaboratively with key stakeholders.
Essential Criteria . Experience in receiving, checking, storing, picking and issuing goods, including accurate stock recording, stock counts and maintaining stock locations within a stores or warehouse environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders including suppliers, couriers and internal departments. Full driving licence. Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Office 365. Organised, proactive and detail-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Criteria. Relevant warehousing, logistics, manual handling or stock control qualification, forklift licence or currently working towards a relevant qualification. Experience using stock management software. Industry experience in engineering/manufacturing.
What We Offer . Hours of Work: 44 hours, Monday to Thursday 7.30am 5.30pm and Friday 7.30am 1.30pm. Salary:
Negotiable depending on experience. Benenden Health available after successful completion of the 6-month probation period.
