About

The Role
We are looking for a mission-driven Cloud Engineer to join our IT department. As a member of the Cloud Platform & IT-Security team you are responsible for developing and maintaining our Cloud environment. You’ll work within a skilled internal engineering team supporting the technology behind Allego’s European charging infrastructure operations.

This role is best for someone who likes to work hands‑on, and who likes to engage with a lot of different stakeholders, as you are the bridge between our developers and our infrastructure.

What You Will Do

Participate in solution design, code reviews, and technical architecture discussions

Work with Azure Dev Ops to manage work items, repositories, branching, and CI/CD pipelines

Work closely with functional consultants and internal customers to analyse requirements and translate them into clean, scalable solutions

Break down work into deliverables and provide accurate time estimations

What You Bring

At least 5 years expertise in Azure, and preferably also AWS

Understanding of compute, storage, networking, identity, and security services

Professional‑level skills in IaaC tools

Experience with designing secure, scalable, resilient cloud architectures

Experience with pipeline design and automation with tools like Azure Dev Ops or others.

Experience with virtual networks, routing, firewalls, VPNs, Load balancers, DNS

Experience with cloud‑native monitoring (Azure Monitor, AWS Cloud Watch)

Experience with container runtime solutions like Kubernetes (AKS, EKS) and container‑centric architectures

Knowledge of automation scripting and coding skills (Power Shell, Bash, Python, C#) for tooling and automation

Awareness of Cloud Cost management and Fin Ops principles

Fluency in English (additional skills in Dutch, German and/or French are considered a plus)
