This tenure‑track position requires regular on‑campus presence, with flexible teaching schedules available. Contract Dates:
August 16, 2026 - June 15, 2027. Teaching Formats:
Day, evening, weekend, in person, hybrid, and online.
A strong candidate should have proven ability to teach college‑level legal‑based courses, and experience with a wide range of legal‑specific computer applications is highly preferred. The Legal Studies Institute seeks a faculty member that has a fundamental understanding of recent and future trends for the Paralegal field. Additionally, excellence in oral, written and interpersonal communication skills is required. Teaching assignments are for 15 faculty load hours per semester and include courses in criminal law and Introduction to Paralegal Studies.
In addition to instructional responsibilities, the faculty member will have a role in curriculum development, assessment strategies, outcome measurements, special events, partnerships, and academic advising.
- Thirty faculty load hour annual contract taught during fall and spring terms, day and evening - including face‑to‑face, online or hybrid instruction and instruction at off‑site locations (including local high schools and AACC satellite campuses at Arundel Mills and Glen Burnie).
- Teach at least 50% of teaching load in person and 50% in a virtual environment.
- Six office hours per week, including in person hours, during the fall and spring terms which may include student advising and mentoring.

In addition to a faculty member's primary responsibilities, the exceptional candidate will also demonstrate commitment and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- J.D. degree.
- Member in good standing of Maryland Bar or another state bar.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Three years of experience teaching law and/or conducting CLE programs.
- Experience working with paralegals and/or experience working as a paralegal.
- Experience in assessment, curriculum development, and/or curriculum design, a plus.
- Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office, Adobe, legal specific software, including, but not limited to e‑discovery software, Westlaw, Lexis Nexis, case management, billing software, etc.
- Experience in delivering instruction in non‑traditional settings using various delivery modes.
- Experience in a community college environment.
- Bilingual or other language proficiency.
