Part Time Instructor – Art History

Position Summary

• The Department of Visual Arts at Anne Arundel Community College is seeking qualified candidates for Art History Part‑Time Instructors to teach one to two courses per semester.

• Desired courses include:
- ART‑221 – History of World Architecture 1
- ART‑222 – History of World Architecture 2
- HUM‑101:
Introduction to Fine Arts.

• Salary Range: $1,170.00 – $1,263.00 per Faculty Load Hour (FLH).

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
  • Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
  • Teach all scheduled classes.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online and/or off‑campus classes.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Art History or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and support students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and utilize active learning strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years teaching experience in Art History.
  • Experience teaching in higher education in an online format.
