Job Summary

The School of Liberal Arts at Anne Arundel Community College seeks part‑time faculty to teach developmental integrated reading and writing courses that prepare students for college‑level writing assignments for academic audiences. Courses emphasize critical writing, reading, and thinking strategies in academic contexts. Faculty will be responsible for teaching in multiple format times (daytime, evening, online) and supporting students from diverse backgrounds and academic preparation levels.

Responsibilities
  • Assess student progress in meeting learning objectives through formal and informal assessment.
  • Submit grades, attendance, and other required data by requested deadlines.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and departmental standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an educational or writing‑intensive field such as adult education, reading, English, or developmental education.
  • Minimum of two years of related full‑time professional experience teaching reading at a secondary level or above.
  • Ability to teach in a face‑to‑face, in‑person capacity.
  • Experience with online teaching in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.
  • Current authorization to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis (employment‑based visa sponsorship, including H‑1B, is not available).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferred.
