SEND Teaching Assistant

Staff for Education are working in partnership with an excellent Primary School in the Arnold area and we are recruiting for an enthusiastic and motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to start at this school in January 2026. This is a full time, long term position until the end of the academic year at least, due to increased needs of the class.

As a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include :

• Working on a 1-2-1 basis with assigned children who have additional needs
• Supporting the class teacher during lessons
• Working with small groups of pupils
• Running small group support
• Assessment and reporting to class teacher
• Working across all year groups

• Have a recognised Teaching Assistant Qualification
• Have experience working within a school environment
• Have a passion for working with young people and enhancing their learning
