Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical bias), £470000, Arnold Nottinghamshire

08:00 – 16:30 – With occasional shift cover, including night shift.

OTE of £50,000 - £55,000 thanks to overtime (paid at 1.5x and 2x) and bonuses. Generous 10% pension

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a maintenance engineer to join a large, well-invested site that forms part of a nationally recognised group. This is a high‑performing facility with state‑of‑the‑art machinery and an experienced engineering team. You’ll benefit from an excellent rota that allows for regular long weekends off while earning a strong base salary and enjoying long‑term job security.

The Role

As a maintenance engineer
, you’ll work with a range of heavy‑duty automated machinery including:

  • Large mixers and slicers
  • Conveyors, silos, and hoppers
  • Kilns, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems

Your focus will be PPMs
, using a tablet system for job tracking. This role places a strong emphasis on mechanical maintenance and repair
. You’ll need to be confident working with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and chains. Fabrication and welding experience is a plus.

The Person We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role as a maintenance engineer
, you’ll need:

  • A strong background in mechanical maintenance within industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Experience working on gearboxes, motors, belts, pulleys, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Confidence with strip‑downs, rebuilds, and reactive mechanical fault diagnosis
  • An NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in engineering (ex‑Forces welcome)
  • A proactive attitude and flexibility for overtime and development
