Salary £30,333 to £32,613 per annum (pro rata if part time)

Nottinghamshire Police is seeking a highly motivated and resilient individual to join our Internet Child Exploitation Team (ICET) as a Victim Identification and CAID Support Officer
.

This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in safeguarding some of the most vulnerable members of society. Working at the forefront of child protection investigations, you will analyse digital media, support complex investigations and help identify victims and offenders involved in the online sexual abuse of children.

As part of a specialist team, you will contribute to Nottinghamshire Police's support of the national Child Abuse Image Database (CAID) programme and work alongside investigators, safeguarding professionals and national policing partners to maximise opportunities for victim identification and offender detection.

You will:

• Lead on Victim Identification and CAID matters across Nottinghamshire Police and with external partners.
• Examine digital images, videos and online content to identify victims, locations and offenders.
• Maintain Nottinghamshire Police's contribution to the national CAID database.
• Produce victim identification strategies and evidential attribution packages to support investigations and prosecutions.
• Conduct online and open-source research to identify victims and perpetrators.
• Provide specialist advice and guidance to investigators and safeguarding partners.
• Support safeguarding activity by identifying opportunities to protect children and disrupt offenders.
• Attend court and respond to CPS enquiries where required.
• Act as a local subject matter expert and contribute to staff training and development.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
• Experienced in researching, gathering and assessing information.
• Confident producing detailed reports and presenting findings.
• Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities.
• Skilled at building effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
• Resilient and professional when dealing with highly sensitive and distressing material.
• Passionate about safeguarding children and protecting vulnerable people

You should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Intelligence development or analytical roles.
• Digital investigations or online research.
• Safeguarding, public protection or child protection environments.
• Evidence gathering and case file preparation.
• Producing written reports and presenting findings.

Knowledge of online investigations, image analysis, open-source research techniques or child protection investigations would be advantageous but training will be provided to the right candidate.
