Priory Hospital Arnold has an opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our team.
Based in the village of Calverton, in Nottingham and set in extensive grounds, Priory Hospital Arnold is an inpatient acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU), for males and females struggling with a wide range of mental health conditions.

- Provide high-quality, person-centred mental health nursing care, working closely with patients, families and carers.
- Act as a Named Nurse, assessing patients’ needs, developing and reviewing care plans and monitoring their progress.
- Observe and engage with patients to identify changes in their presentation, responding appropriately to changing needs and risks.
- Work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to coordinate and deliver effective patient care.
- Prioritise and delegate nursing duties appropriately, taking charge of the ward when required and maintaining a safe care environment.
- Support the safe management of medication and ensure care is delivered in line with safeguarding, Mental Health, Mental Capacity and DoLS requirements.

What you'll bring to the roleEssential for the role
- Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration.
- Completed a nursing preceptorship programme.
- Minimum 6 months’ post-registration experience.
- Good knowledge of NMC guidelines and professional practice.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to continued professional development and delivering high-quality patient care.
The following experience would be beneficial
- Previous experience working within a mental health or learning disabilities care environment
. - Experience assessing patient needs and reviewing nursing care plans.
- Experience working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).
- Experience supporting or coordinating a nursing shift and delegating duties appropriately.
- Evidence of continued professional development within a relevant clinical field.
