  • Ability to evaluate, develop and implement athletic programs, activities and events, and make effective recommendations related to those areas.

POSITION:
Athletic Director – Mesa Middle School

STIPEND:
Middle School Athletic Director Stipend: $4,100/yr

POSITION PURPOSE

To manage and coordinate athletic activities and sports programs to promote athletics and physical fitness as positive extra‑curricular activities, and to ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to participate and share in the benefits of the district’s athletic programs.

DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of the middle school principal, the athletic director will assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the policies, regulations, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to a school site interscholastic sports program. The athletic director will serve as a resource to administrators and interscholastic sports personnel concerning sports and recreation activities, and other related functions as directed.

The Athletic Director will be the primary educator, overseer, enforcer, and interpreter of Athletic regulations. The Athletic Director will utilize all the resources available to establish a cooperative relationship with parents, staff members and administrators to support each student’s opportunity to learn and grow in educational and life experiences. The goal of the Athletic Director is to provide overall leadership and coordination among the various sports and provide student athletes with a positive competitive experience.
