Under general supervision, to operate and promote the library program in a school; assist students and staff in using and learning to use the library/media center.

• High school graduation or its equivalent.
• Some office or library clerical experience.
• Ability to speak and write effectively; research and retrieve information using computer technology; work independently; work calmly and accurately under pressure and with frequent interruptions; establish and maintain cooperative relationships.

• Certificate of Proficiency in Library Technology or courses in library technology from a community college.
• Some experience in working with groups of children/young people.
• Knowledge of library media systems and practices including the care and operation of instructional media and equipment; children's/young people's literature and the basic curriculum; use of technology in searching and using information which may include computers, CD-ROM, video and telecommunications.
• Keyboarding ability.
• Ability to communicate verbally in Spanish.
