Position Title
Rehab Tech/Clerk (25-358) - Artesia General Hospital
Position SummaryThe Rehabilitation Clerk/Tech works under the direct supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services and assists in the productive operation of a rehabilitation therapy practice. Primary job duties include checking patients in, communicating with therapists regarding patient arrival and schedule changes, answering phones, confirming patient appointments, inputting daily charges, obtaining prior authorization and recertification for rehabilitation services, monitoring insurance benefits/limits for patients, ensuring necessary signatures are obtained for medical records, etc.
They will also help maintain the treatment area clean, prep therapy sessions, and aid in the transport of mobility impaired patients. Employee will participate in educational programs, quality improvement, and program development. Other tasks/responsibilities are to be completed as assigned.
- The Rehabilitation Services Clerk/Tech is required to work under the direction and supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
- The Rehabilitation Services Clerk/Tech may perform rehabilitation procedures tasks that have been selected and delegated by the Rehabilitation Services Therapist.
- The Rehabilitation Services Clerk/Tech may also perform routine operational functions.
- The Rehabilitation Services Therapist may assign responsibilities to the Rehabilitation Services Clerk/Tech to provide rehabilitation services as specified in the treatment plan developed by the Rehabilitation Services therapist, which includes: preparing patients, treatment areas and equipment; administration of therapeutic heat and cold; respond to acute changes in physiological state; interact with patients and families in a manner that provides the desired psychosocial support.
Responsibilities
- May be required to work occasional weekends and holidays as well as perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to efficiently schedule and perform duties appropriately.
- Education:
High School Graduate or GED certificate. - Work Experience:
Satisfactory completion of Physical Therapy Aide Competency Evaluation and/or job training. - License/Certification: BLS required.
Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
