Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg inpatient role requiring NM or compact state licensure and strong MS-Tele skills.
Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital on a 26-bed Med/Surg inpatient unit

• Patient population includes Medical/Surgical and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) cases

• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5

• Responsibilities may include titrating drips such as insulin, amiodarone, and levofed

• Monitoring performed using Mindray cardiac monitors; ability to read and interpret tele strips required

• Rotating day shifts (7am-7pm) with every other weekend required

• Holiday rotation may be required

• No on-call or floating required for RNs

• Charting is completed in Tru Bridge - Evident and CPSI systems

• Unit includes nurse aides to support daily care duties such as vitals, ADLs, and patient transport

• Respiratory therapy equipment is managed by in-house RTs available 24/7

• Orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor based on experience

• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs

• Travelers are not typically assigned to charge nurse roles

• First time travelers are welcome to apply

• Assignment schedule flexibility is expected to help fill staffing needs
Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license required at time of consideration

• Minimum of 3 years recent Med/Surg-Tele experience required

• BLS and ACLS certifications required

• Ability to titrate common drips and interpret telemetry is required

• LTAC, PCU, or stepdown experience preferred

• Ability to maintain intubation is preferred

• Must complete required online modules prior to start (approximately 20 hours)
