Aquila
's full-time Strength and Conditioning Specialist provides daily fitness instruction and injury prevention programming to enhance the readiness, resilience, and fitness of assigned population.
Salaries range: $60,000-$70,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Work Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
Start Date:
Sometime between February 2026 - April 2026.
Location:
In-person, Artesia, NM (Relocation expenses may be covered).
- Provide qualified fitness instruction and education to employees on physical strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and general fitness and wellness on a daily basis.
- Responsible for one-on-one fitness training and small group training.
- Perform readiness assessments for population, including stress, resiliency, nutrition, strength, conditioning, and sleep.
- Provide written recommendations and in-person briefings to improve, add to, or change fitness programming based on current data, scientific research, and technology, and design an implementation plan.
- Provide guidance to develop physical training and injury prevention to complement and enhance existing fitness programming.
- Coordinate individualized exercise and rehabilitation programs with population to ensure safe and expeditious return to work for individuals recovering from injury.
- Perform administrative duties such as data collection, analysis, records maintenance, and documentation; write reports; conduct or participate in education programs; and participate in staff quality assurance functions as needed.
- Track participant and program data to measure goal achievement, outcomes and results; create outcomes-focused management reports based on identified business plan goals and objectives.
- Develop relationships with members, clients and key contract contacts to promote goodwill and outstanding customer satisfaction.
- Implement NSCA programming guidelines, identifying high-risk and special populations.
- Help implement the Aquila internship program when appropriate.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Science, Health Promotion, or closely related field.
- Currently active National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
- Currently active National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) certification.
- One (1) or more years specialized experience performing strength and conditioning instruction.
- U.S. citizenship required (this is a federal agency).
- Must pass a physical training examination.
- Must be able to physically push, lift and drag one hundred (100) pounds.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, for extended periods of time in any weather.
- Must pass a high-level security clearance background check process.
