The Senior Design Engineer is a technical leader specializing in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and drawing creation for custom turbo machinery (pumps, turbines, compressors, etc.). This role applies advanced GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM/A principles to deliver accurate, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs. They support clean‑sheet turbo machinery design, modifications to existing designs, resolve production issues, and drive design process standardization across the business.
KeyResults Areas
- Lead the 3D modeling phase of a project to complete an assembly that will meet technical and manufacturability requirements within budgetary and schedule constraints.
- Function as part of the project team to create part models and assembly models that are used for engineering analysis and drawing creation.
- Work with the manufacturing team to design the cost out of parts while employing knowledge of “design for manufacture, assembly, inspection, and test” principles.
- Lead activities to improve execution of the modeling phase of a project.
- Perform engineering analysis for first‑cut sizing of components.
- Perform tolerance stack analysis with cross‑functional inputs to ensure critical fits and clearances are achieved.
