This position has Engineering and Design responsibility for compressor lubrication and dry gas seal support systems that are being developed in accordance with the latest industry standards. Upon completion of designs, you will oversee the required acceptance tests.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of rotating equipment; aerodynamic performance, gas seals, bearings, vibration, rotor dynamics, controls, testing, material science, and auxiliary support systems
  • Knowledge and interpretation of applicable industry standards (API-617, 692, 614, NEMA, ASME Pressure Vessel Code, AGMA, NACE, etc.)
  • Review of customer order scope and technical specifications and datasheets
  • Provide input into the design of the compressor/gearbox support systems; P&, seal support systems, lubrication systems, noise attenuation, and compressor control
  • Detailed engineering of compressor / gearbox support systems in accordance with the latest API standards (main & auxiliary drivers, heat exchangers, seal gas heaters, pumps, instruments, gauges, surge control valves and systems, etc.)
  • Create bills of material
  • Provide direction to design/drafting resources
  • Conduct pre-release design reviews
  • Create and/or review and approve engineering drawings and documentation; seal gas and lube oil system data sheets, system layout drawings, build data sheets, quality/test reports, etc.
  • Disposition non-conforming parts
  • Provide engineering & troubleshooting support for assembly and testing activities
  • Drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement, including the creation of Engineering Standard Work
  • Stay abreast of new technology and adapt accordingly
  • Assist Application Engineering and Sales in winning new business
  • Manufacturing support, machine design, understanding of GD&T
  • Provide consultation to Field Service for start-up/commissioning and troubleshooting

Skills & Abilities

  • Self-motivated and highly organized
  • Excellent team player

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, MS a plus
  • 3-5 years of related engineering experience, including manufacturing, EPCs, and/or oil and gas industry
  • Sound engineering judgment and decision-making skills
  • Travel to domestic or international customer and supplier sites required on a limited basis. Includes kickoff meetings, design review meetings, and HAZOP meetings.
  • Structural Design knowledge, FEA e.g. Ansys a plus

Compensation Details

Annual Salary: $80,000.00 - $98,000.00

Additional Compensation

Salary Range for this position: $80K - $98K (the salary offered will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and will be compared with internal equity along with market data for this position).
