Underwriting Specialist OR Executive Underwriter – Middle Market

Zürich Middle Markets has delivered double‑digit growth over the last four consecutive years, and we are looking to add to our Property & Casualty team in Denver. In this role, you will serve as a customer advocate focused on the unique risks of Middle Market P&C insurance clients, providing end‑to‑end solutions.

Greenwood Village, CO (Hybrid Remote – Denver area)

Full‑Time – Mid‑Senior Level

• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, partners, and customers across all industries to support business objectives.
• Leverage P&C underwriting acumen across risk assessment, exposure evaluation, and pricing to generate and maintain a profitable book of new and renewal business.
• Collaborate across business units—including claims, finance, risk engineering, actuarial, and technical underwriting—to gain comprehensive industry knowledge.
• Use technical underwriting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build and grow relationships with preferred distribution partners in the assigned territory.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area, OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area, OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (Associate Degree) and 1+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area, OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (Associate Degree) and 4+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support area, AND
• Knowledge of Property & Casualty lines, legal & regulatory guidelines, time restraints for quotes, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area, OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area, OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (Associate Degree) and 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area, OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (Associate Degree) and 8+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support area, AND
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, time restraints for quotes, and experience in a team environment.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Established relationships with P&C broker partners.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• CPCU and ARM designations are a plus.

The combined salary range for this position is $75,000 – $165,000 annually, with short‑term incentive bonuses at 10%–15% depending on level.
