Equipment Mechanic III –
LOCATION:
ARVIN, CA.

- Independently perform diagnostics and repairs in the areas of fabrication, hydraulics, engines, drive trains, emissions, electrical, and miscellaneous mechanical on various types of farm and heavy equipment.
- Mentor and serve as a role model to other mechanics/technicians within the company.
- Utilize shop tools and equipment to complete repairs with minimal supervision.
- Possess or be able to acquire a Forklift Certification.
- 5+ years of experience in an equipment repair environment or facility.
- Ability to operate a shop overhead crane or truck-mounted crane for heavy lift repairs.
- Experience operating stick or MIG welding equipment.
- Ability to interpret repair manual procedures and hydraulic/electrical schematics.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand, pneumatic and electric power tools used in a shop.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Previous experience performing all levels of PM service procedures.
- On-call availability and weekend work ability.
- Ability to travel to facilities and field locations.
- Ability to read, write and understand written information in English.
- Ability to diagnose and repair in the following areas:
- 12V & 24V electrical systems
- R134a air conditioning and heating systems
- Hydraulic systems (pumps, motors, cylinders, components, and diagnostics)
- Drivetrain component repairs (transmissions, clutches, differentials, transfer cases)
- High pressure diesel fuel systems
- Cooling system & charging repairs
- Diesel and gas engine DTC diagnostics
- Diesel engine emissions systems (SCR, DOC, DPF)
- Fabrication and assembly of equipment using tools in shop and field
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean DMV record.
- Pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical, and functional capacity evaluation.
- Prior experience operating agricultural or construction equipment.
- Understanding and following shop and field safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and make safe, timely, and efficient repairs with accurate labor/materials accounting.
- Computer literacy to communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and vendors.
- Willingness to train/mentor up-and-coming mechanics and technicians.
- Ability to manage and maintain assigned shop tools and equipment.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish.
