Teach English as a second language to community members. Assist with program arrangements as needed.

• Prepare for in-person classes and ensure the classroom is ready for students.
• Teach basic reading, writing, and conversation skills, depending on class level.
• Monitor student attendance and follow up on absences.
• Prepare classwork, homework, and tests.
• Administer final examinations and prepare required documentation for the end-of-year program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

• Minimum two years of college education;
  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior experience teaching adults.
• Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Attendance and punctuality are mandatory.
• Support and understand The Salvation Army’s mission as a church and social services organization.
• Patient, compassionate, and understanding demeanor.
• Proficient in computer skills.
