Ocean Door Automation is seeking an experienced High-End Window & Door Installation Foreman to join our team.
We specialize in the installation and automation of high-end architectural window and door systems, including Brombal Steel, Nana Wall, Marvin, Andersen Big Doors, Centor, Panda, and other specialty systems
.
This is not an entry-level installer position. We are looking for an experienced construction professional who can lead a crew, read plans, coordinate installations, communicate professionally with project teams, and work hands-on alongside the crew.
What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have experience in high-end residential or architectural construction and be comfortable working with expensive, specialty materials and systems.
Responsibilities include:- Lead and supervise installation crews in the field.
- Read and interpret architectural plans, elevations, shop drawings, and installation details.
- Lay out and sequence window and door installations.
- Verify rough openings, elevations, dimensions, and site readiness before installation.
- Coordinate with general contractors, superintendents, architects, manufacturers, and other trades.
- Participate in job-site and installation coordination meetings when required.
- Identify field conditions that could affect installation and communicate them before proceeding.
- Maintain high standards for installation quality, waterproofing, flashing, sealants, finishes, and protection of materials.
- Perform hands-on installation work alongside the crew when necessary.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent Ocean Door Automation appropriately on high-end residential and commercial projects.
- Maintain job-site safety, organization, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with training and developing less-experienced installers.
- Proven carpentry, window/door installation, millwork, glazing, or related high-end construction experience.
- Previous foreman, lead installer, or crew-lead experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to read architectural plans and construction details.
- Strong understanding of layout, plumb, level, square, fastening, flashing, waterproofing, and finish work.
- Physically capable of participating in all phases of window and door installation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Comfortable communicating with homeowners, builders, architects, manufacturers, and project managers.
- English/Spanish bilingual strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Willingness to travel when required.
This is a direct employee position
, not a 1099 subcontractor position.
Compensation will be based on experience and demonstrated ability.
Ocean Door Automation complies with applicable New Jersey payroll and employment requirements.
A company van may be provided and may be permitted to be taken home depending on the employee's location and ability to safely park and secure the vehicle.
TravelThe majority of our work is located within approximately a 40-mile radius of our Asbury Park, NJ shop
.
Some projects require travel outside the immediate area. When a project requires more than one hour of travel from the shop,
travel time beyond the first hour is paid at the employee's regular hourly rate, both traveling to and returning from the project.
Occasionally, projects require overnight travel. Ocean Door Automation provides hotel or Airbnb accommodations for authorized out-of-town projects.
For perspective, during the past year we have completed two extended out-of-town projects in New York and Pennsylvania, with our longest project requiring approximately 4½ weeks away from the local area.
The Person We're Trying to FindWe're looking for more than someone who knows how to install a window.
We need someone who can walk onto a high-end construction project, understand the drawings, evaluate field conditions, organize manpower, communicate professionally with the project team, and then put on a tool belt and help execute the installation.
Our projects involve specialty products and materials manufactured throughout the United States and Europe.
The right candidate must be comfortable taking responsibility for the installation of high-value products where precision, planning, communication, and workmanship matter.
