Advanced Level 2 IT Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Advanced Level 2 IT Engineer with some Level 3 experience to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled IT professional with strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, compliance, and enterprise IT environments.

• Minimum 10 years’ IT experience, including at least 5 years in senior engineering, advanced support, or architecture roles
• Strong experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, virtualization, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible
• Advanced networking knowledge including SD-WAN and Zero-Trust architectures
• Experience with AI/ML technologies, data analytics platforms, and intelligent automation solutions
• Solid understanding of compliance frameworks including POPIA, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NIST, and CIS Controls
• Advanced cybersecurity experience including threat hunting, incident response, SIEM, EDR/XDR, and security automation
• Proven track record leading IT transformation, migration, and cloud adoption projects
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while mentoring junior team members
• Must be based in South Africa (Johannesburg preferred)

• Lead complex infrastructure, cloud, and digital transformation projects
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls and threat management solutions
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards
• Support AI-driven analytics and automation initiatives
• Optimize infrastructure performance, scalability, and reliability
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
