An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and dedicated Gynaecology Outpatients Team as a Band 5 Staff Nurse on a 12-month secondment contract, covering the secondment of one of our current team members.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate registered nurse who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a busy and rewarding outpatient setting. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in supporting women through a wide range of gynaecological investigations, treatments, and clinics.

If you have an interest in Women's Health, this is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist knowledge and gain valuable experience in gynaecology nursing. Whether you already have some experience in the specialty or are looking to broaden your clinical skills, you will be fully supported through mentorship, training, and ongoing professional development to build your confidence and expertise.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist the Clinic Sister in ensuring effective and efficient management of all Gynecology clinics within the department including Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy, nurse led smear clinics, Uro-Dynamics, Two Week Rule Clinics and pre-operative sessions.
  • To play a lead role in the achievement and maintenance of high standards of patient care.
  • To use all resources efficiently and effectively and maintain operational standards taking responsibility for regular testing and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Liaise with all other departments as appropriate, to be aware of and participate in the implementation of Trust wide issues.
  • To communicate effectively with members of the multi-professional team and other agencies as required
  • To discuss and obtain consent where appropriate in accordance with consent policy.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure high standards of nursing documentation where necessary.
  • To ensure safe and appropriate discharge from the department following consultation treatment.
