Transport Planner

Transport Planner – Ashbourne

Work as a Transport Planner for our client, a leading producer of fresh chicken, pork, lamb, and ready meals.

• Plan, support and coordinate daily transport movements to meet agriculture plan, logistics service, and cost performance targets.
• Prepare transport requirements on a day‑1/day‑2 basis in a timely manner.
• Report directly to the Transport Manager and contribute to making the logistics planning a “Best in Class” operation.

• Minimum 2 years of transport experience in a fast‑paced multi‑site own account or 3PL logistics operation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; knowledge of geographical locations of customer depots.
• Experience monitoring, tracking and driving logistical performance through agreed KPIs.
• Customer‑facing experience; able to react quickly and calmly in delivering practical solutions to operational issues.
• Experienced in IT applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent personal time‑management, initiative, communication and negotiation skills.

• Full‑time, 42 hours per week.
• Rotating 4 on 4 off shift pattern (after a 1–2 week training period).
• Shift options: 7 am – 5 pm and 5 pm – 3 am.
• Must be able to work both day and night shifts.

• Rate: £16.28 per hour.
• Temp to perm opportunity.
