This role is provided by Hanley Energy. Compensation is based on experience and skill set. The base pay range for the position is $32.00/hr to $39.00/hr.
Field Controls Technician (New Construction)The Field Controls Technician works as part of a dynamic, fast‑growing team to support new construction projects at customer sites. Responsibilities include hands‑on installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of automated client systems to reduce energy costs, ensure 100% uptime, and maintain competitive advantage. The Technician also troubleshoots equipment to full operation and serves as a technical resource for the full physical infrastructure of customer buildings that store mission‑critical data and equipment.
Responsibilities- System installation, checkout, integration, testing, and commissioning support
- Knowledge of Pro Core
- Programming IPCs, HMIs, PLCs, managed switches, and PQMs
- Expand and develop system integration experience using Ignition Software
- Provide feedback to the Engineering team on technical documentation, electrical diagrams, sequences of operation, and operating procedures
- Utilize time‑management, teamwork, communication skills, organizational and problem‑solving skills
- Train other team members as part of ongoing development efforts
- Education/training: 2 years of experience in a technical field or equivalent military, trade school, university, or college training
- 2‑year degree in STEM is a plus
- Prior experience with data centers, PLC programming, SCADA creation, networking, troubleshooting, and electrical drawings
- Experience with protocols such as MODBUS
