This challenging and unique role will involve acting as a senior electrical engineer, designing critical power systems for new data centers and expansions to existing data centers. The ideal candidate will have past experience designing electrical systems specifically for large data centers. They will have experience and in-depth knowledge of Electrical Power Systems / Power Distribution System design and installation. Previous experience with electrical equipment design to include Generators, UPS systems, PDUs and electrical switch gear is a must.

They will be proficient using AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP to develop electrical construction models and documents. You will help lead the design and effectively work with / communicate with all the trades and stakeholders involved in the project.

Responsibilities:

• Manage projects, create designs and plans, provided and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary electrical engineering design role for all sizes of data center facility design projects- enterprise data centers, Colocation Providers and for Hyperscale Companies.
• Create Conceptual Designs gathered from meetings with the client for Field Engineer focus
• Work with Management to respond to RFPs;
  Review shop drawings and submittals;
  Review and respond to RFIs
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policies Put these in clear concise work statement for the field
• Represent the company in project meetings as needed
• Collaborate with all design staff and oversee full cycle electrical design activities
• Interact closely with the Project Management Team to produce construction documents, develop and edit project specifications and lead the construction administration process
• Execute and lead design teams and design projects of complex scope
• Perform intermediate to advanced electrical design tasks including development of electrical distribution systems and topologies, infrastructure and equipment layouts and selection / sizing of equipment
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit software to prepare drawings
• Review and / or prepare book or sheet specifications for electrical systems
• Develop and / or review sequences of operations
• Assist in proposal development including project scope, schedule and budget
• Effective management of project design team including resource forecasting and coordination
• Identify potential project scope changes and aid in development of strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines
• Support contact for design clients and builds effective, long-term client relationships
• May direct / coordinate interns / other engineering and technical staff
• Survey existing building conditions / Conduct Field Observations and prepares technical reports of findings and commissioning support
• Collect data and other information for construction documents
• Prepare project design and construction documents
• Review and complete punch lists and project closeout documents
• Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Update and maintain shop drawing and RFI log

Qualifications:

• 8-15 years experience
• Experience working for MEP firms, an A/E firm
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering degree
• Licensed PE / EIT a Plus
• Experience with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects
