Reporting to Engineering leadership, the Product Manager – Hardware serves as the voice of the U.S. market within the global Janitza product organization. You are technically grounded, commercially aware, and comfortable working across cultures and time zones. You work closely with the German Product and R&D teams to translate U.S. customer requirements, regulatory needs, and market expectations into clear hardware product requirements and roadmaps.
You understand electrical power systems, hardware life cycles, and the realities of deploying products in the field. You are equally comfortable discussing specifications with engineers, use cases with customers, and priorities with leadership. You excel at balancing technical depth with business impact.
- Act as the primary U.S. product owner for Janitza hardware products.
- Represent U.S. market needs to the German Product Management and R&D teams.
- Gather and prioritize requirements from U.S. customers, sales, solutions, support, and engineering teams.
- Translate market and customer needs into clear product requirements, feature definitions, and use cases.
- Collaborate with German product teams on product roadmaps, feature prioritization, and release planning.
- Ensure U.S.
-specific requirements are addressed, including:- Electrical standards and codes
- Certifications (UL, CSA, FCC, etc.)
- Installation practices and field expectations
- Data center and industrial application requirements
- Support new product introductions (NPI) in the U.S. market, including internal enablement and technical positioning.
- Partner with Solutions, Technical Support, and Sales teams to support complex customer applications.
- Analyze competitive products and market trends to inform product strategy.
- Participate in customer meetings to validate requirements and gather direct feedback.
- Support lifecycle management activities including product updates, variants, and end-of-life planning.
- Travel (25%) domestically and internationally (including Germany) to align with global product teams and key customers
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of electrical power distribution and monitoring systems.
- Experience working with hardware products across their lifecycle (concept → development → deployment → support).
- Ability to translate technical requirements into structured product documentation.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, sales, support, manufacturing.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with international teams.
- Customer-facing experience with the ability to gather, interpret, and prioritize real-world requirements.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in power monitoring, power quality, protection, or automation systems.
- Familiarity with data center or industrial facility applications.
- Experience working with global or multinational engineering teams.
- Understanding of U.S. electrical standards and certification processes.
- Prior experience in a hardware-focused Product Manager or Technical Product Owner role.
- Ability to balance short-term customer needs with long-term product strategy.
