Job Description
Customer Experience Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Develops strong relationships with most valuable customers.
  • Under the supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
  • Reviews and complies with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
  • Performs duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information and ensuring information is entered correctly.
  • Fills prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying the medication is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Assists pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
  • Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to company policies and procedures related to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Strictly adheres to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
  • Registers all related sales on the assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required.
  • Leads Pharmacy Department inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintains knowledge of company asset protection techniques and files claims for overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods involving prescription drugs.
  • Assists and supports the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in analyzing and seeking to improve pharmacy financial, customer service, and inventory performance data.
  • May assist the pharmacist in administering clinical services, including collection and labeling of blood/urine samples and coordination of clinical services at Walgreens healthcare clinics and with external providers.
  • Develops and maintains good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other health care providers through provider detailing and outreach.
  • Supports execution of the Pickup program.
  • Assists with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked, clean, neat, and orderly.
  • Coaches pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the correct use of processes and tools to drive efficiency within the pharmacy.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
  • Maintains PTCB or ExCPT certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.
  • Attends training and completes PPLs requested by the manager and acquires continuing education credits.
  • Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including the latest news and developments.
External Basic Qualifications
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico).
  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
  • Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in certain locations).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Prefer basic level PC skills (e.g., startup and shutdown computer, use mouse and keyboard, print documents, and access information online).
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
