Data Center Technician

Solugenix is looking for a Data Center Technician. This is a 3+ month contract opportunity based in Ashburn, VA (Onsite).

Looking for Data Center Technician to join a two-person data center. This team player needs to be a self-starter and have the knack to pick up and learn things quickly. The Data Center Technician along with their partner will be responsible for a single data center. There will be no travel needed between sites. Looking for only long-term career individuals. The average tenure of teams in the past is from 8-11 years.

• Experience with racking and stacking enterprise networking gear.
• Must have solid knowledge and experience in structured cabling.
• Structured cabling knowledge and experience.
• 3+ years of Data Center Technician work.
• Able to learn and catch on quickly.
• Previous experience documenting and closing out tickets in Service Now.
• Must have flexibility to work occasional after-hours testing.

• Perform major and minor preventive maintenance and repairs by troubleshooting cabling system issues Identify, track and remove abandoned cables.
• Able to test every newly installed or relocated cable in accordance with established procedures.
• Keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of National Building Codes and standards.
• Record time and materials used.
• Update work status on a team SharePoint site and Service Now Ticketing system (must have experience and be able to close tickets).
• Requires some schedule flexibility for very occasional after-hours testing (one of the two team members can come in later to accommodate the after hours).
• There are no break/fix duties.

$26.00/hr - $27.00/hr

Pay Range for CA, CO, IL, NJ, NY, WA, and DC: $26/hour to $27/hour. Starting rate of pay offered may vary depending on factors including but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
