Job Summary
Equinix is seeking a Sr. Data Center Facility Manager to lead our Ashburn facility operations team that will operate and maintain critical facility infrastructure, plan and execute projects to upgrade and improve our critical and non-critical infrastructure systems, and develop the tools, processes, and safety culture necessary to effectively scale.
Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of the data center's critical physical infrastructure. Maintain high availability and performance while ensuring that all work performed within the site is done to high quality without impact to internal/external customers and maintain service level agreements
- Manage teams of 24x7 engineers in all facets of their career. Guide, train and educate staff on best practices related to all service owner issues
- Engage in improvement projects, often requiring reaching out to a variety of internal and external support teams, and drive them from conception to completion
- Is the escalation point for Data Center facilities related issues/failures including responding to out-of-hours emergency calls
- Oversee operation and management of routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switch gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
- Overall site capacity management
- Participates as part of the new facility/infrastructure design team
- Incident Management including: communicating and coordinating activities and on-site staff during a complex customer-impacting incidents, drive root cause analysis and provide a clear direction and, drives approval for incident resolution
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
- 10+ years of management experience in technology operations, including critical facility operations
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing leaders in a dynamic, 24/7 environment.
- Proven track record of thinking strategically and executing tactically
- Experienced in project management
- Experienced working with vendor partners
- High-level of knowledge and understanding of data center power and cooling infrastructure
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards, including EHS, OSHA
- Troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience providing solutions to complex problems under pressure
- Experience in cross functional, collaborative environments
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is United States - DC16 Washington DC: 114, USD / Annual.
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
