The Animal Groomer role at Good Dog Rocky is a part-time, on-site position based in Ashburn, VA. The Animal Groomer is responsible for bathing, drying, brushing, and trimming pets according to established grooming standards and client preferences. Daily tasks include checking in pets, performing coat and skin assessments, safely handling animals of various sizes and temperaments, and maintaining a clean and sanitary grooming area.
The role involves communicating with clients about grooming options, pet conditions, and follow-up care, as well as accurately documenting services provided. The Animal Groomer collaborates with the team to ensure a calm, safe, and positive experience for every pet.
- Strong Animal Care and Animal Welfare skills, with the ability to safely handle and groom pets in a calm and compassionate manner.
- Demonstrated Pet Care experience, including bathing, brushing, trimming nails, and checking for basic health or skin issues.
- Effective Communication and Customer Service skills to interact clearly and respectfully with clients and team members.
- Previous experience in professional pet grooming or a related animal care environment is preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and manage animals of varying sizes, and follow safety and hygiene protocols.
- Basic knowledge of grooming tools, techniques, and breed-specific grooming standards is beneficial.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work a part-time schedule including weekends or evenings as needed.
