Jr Back End Developer

Overview

Big Bear.ai is seeking a Junior Back End Developer to support the development and maintenance of backend services and APIs. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a collaborative engineering team.

• Assist in developing and maintaining backend services using Python and Flask
• Support the creation and maintenance of RESTful APIs
• Work with AWS services to deploy, test, and monitor applications
• Help troubleshoot issues and participate in debugging sessions
• Collaborate with senior developers to learn best practices in coding, testing, and documentation

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience
• Foundational experience with Python
• Basic understanding of Flask for API development
• Exposure to AWS services (cloud concepts, basic deployments, or hands‑on coursework/projects)
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and absorb feedback

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Understanding of relational or No
  
  SQL databases
• Exposure to CI/CD tools or pipelines
• Basic knowledge of containerization (Docker) or serverless concepts
• Interest in learning testing frameworks and writing unit tests
