About the Role
We are looking for a Surface Mount Technician to join our client in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire. This role involves setting up and operating SMT equipment, ensuring accurate component placement, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the assembly process.

Key Responsibilities

* Set up and operate SMT machines

* Load components and verify correct placement using AOI (Automated Optical Inspection).

* Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on SMT equipment.

* Inspect assembled PCBs for quality and accuracy.

* Work from technical drawings and work instructions.

* Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve issues.

* Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S principles.

Requirements

* Knowledge of SMT equipment operation and maintenance.

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

* Familiarity with IPC standards and AOI processes is a plus.
